As part of our effort to help schools create the safest learning environments possible, we have created three levels of mitigation efforts.

This school has taken steps to reduce the output level of its routers and access points and reduced the beacon frequency in classrooms. The school has notified teachers and staff of these changes and the reasons for them.  For schools with residential students, routers and access points in living and sleeping areas are automatically shut off from 11pm to 6 am.

Level One: Bronze

This school has taken all of the actions recommended in Level One, and in addition, has hard-wired all stationary devices in the classroom, including smart boards, projectors, cameras, alarms and desktop computers. For schools with residential students, the school has created "cool" spots where all wireless devices have been removed and RF levels are reduced to minimal (ALARA) levels.

Level Two: Silver

This school has taken all of the actions recommended in Levels One and Two, and in addition, has hard-wired all tablets, notebooks and other student learning devices in classrooms and disabled or removed routers and access points. Students, teachers and staff have been advised of these changes and the reasons for them, and students have been encouraged to learn more about radiofrequency radiation and its impact on human health.

Level Three: Gold
